On a good day, transportation in Haiti can bring countless challenges. Add in the rubble and damaged roads from a 7.0 earthquake, mix in some old trucks with dirty diesel and you have a logistical nightmare.
But our missionaries, staff and relief volunteers have been working around the clock to get relief aid to those who need it most. With requests for help coming in from sources as varied as phone calls, Twitter and email, it's sometimes hard to know where to go first. We've been working closely with Samaritan's Purse coordinators to put an efficient system in place and ensure that we make the most out of every trip.
One of our largest trucks is more than 10 years old and breaks down on a regular basis. The driver must carry water with him to keep the radiator working. Our relief team hestitated in using this truck, but with so much need surrounding us, they made the call to trust God and send the truck on the road.
That truck was able to transport many needed supplies and return to the mission headquarters without incident. We have sent the truck out again today and we are trusting that God will once again bring it home safely.
As broken and battered as our vehicles may be, we have come to realize they are His trucks. The Lord knows our needs and we are trusting Him to provide.
Thank you for joining us in praying for safe travels for drivers carrying emergency relief supplies. Each day brings new miracles and blessings from our Savior.
If you would like to provide a new or lightly used truck, canter, or pick up truck for our relief efforts, contact us. Your gift would bless thousands of earthquake survivors in Haiti.
Be a part of delivering life-saving aid.
