Safe in His Dwelling - Sheltering the Homeless |

"For in the day of trouble he will keep me safe in his dwelling; he will hide me in the shelter of his tabernacle and set me high upon a rock" (Psalm 27:5, NIV)
In the rural community of Haute Pereaux, more than 90 people have found safety and shelter in the local church. The church opened its doors to families who were left homeless after the earthquake. And he wasn't alone. In the rural communities affected by the January 12 earthquake, BHM's partnering churches have opened their doors to serve their neighbors in this time of greatest need. We rejoice in the church's ongoing testimony of love and hospitality.
"I was a stranger and you invited me in... I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me" (Matthew 25:34,40)
Seeking to help their communities rebuild, our partnering pastors and other leaders have also begun bringing lists of families who need our help to rebuild. Many have been left completely homeless, while many more have suffered significant damage to their homes. The numbers are staggering.
We are estimating that materials alone for rebuidling in these communities will cost more than $2 million. Yet, we are confident the Lord will provide through generous friends and supporters like you. He will keep us "safe in his dwelling," hide families "in the shelter of his tabernacle," and set Haiti "high upon a rock."
