The numbers we're hearing about casualties from the 7.0 earthquake and countless aftershocks that rocked Haiti are growing by the day. With estimates ranging between 100,000 and 200,000 Haitians dead from the quake, many of them children, each report seems worse than the last.

Following the massive earthquake that flattened homes and buildings across Haiti on January 12 and claimed nearly 300,000 lives, we were overwhelmed by the need that surrounded us-and by the generous response from our friends and supporters around the world.

Search and rescue teams immediately began looking for survivors. Weeks on end followed with critical medical care provided by our hospital doctors, nurses, and visiting teams.

As the dust began to settle, we began to hear from the survivors, people who were spared in the astonishing miracles we can attribute only to God's grace and mercy. People who now look to us to help them rebuild the broken pieces of their homes and lives.
